CTMP pulp

CTMP, Chemi-ThermoMechanical Pulp, provides bulk, cleanliness and rigidity
It goes without saying that consumers want packaging that does not influence the taste or smell of the food. Not all pulps are suitable for food board production, but Rottneros CTMP pulp offers high cleanliness, bulk and rigidity with low weight – valuable properties for food packaging manufacturers.
The increase in online shopping means there is also a demand for more pulp for the production of wrapping, packaging and cardboard. We are expanding our CTMP pulp capacity to meet this demand.
Rottneros CTMP pulp offers high levels of cleanliness, strength and rigidity at low weight.
We are expanding to increase the capacity of mechanically produced pulp at Rottneros Mill.
Rottneros is a specialist in its field, focusing on meeting customer needs and challenges.

Production
Woodchips are pre-treated with chemicals at an elevated temperature. As the chips pass between rotating grinding discs, the fibers can be separated from one another.
The pulp is flash-dried to give it an open structure and then baled. Up to 95% of the wood can be recovered when producing CTMP.
Cardboard and packaging
Mechanical pulp makes it possible to produce a thicker, and therefore more rigid, cardboard from the same amount of raw material.
Special applications
Mechanical pulp can be customised for a number of different special applications where freeness, porosity or bleaching level is crucial.
Pulp for fibre trays
The raw material for our own wet molded fibre trays consists of 100% mechanical pulp from pure forest.
