Rottneros AB, one of the world's leading suppliers of first-class market pulp, is now investing in Blue Ocean Closures and becomes a co-owner of the Swedish start-up, developing proprietary fiber-based packaging materials. 

Anna Jonhed has been appointed CEO of Rottneros Packaging. She will take office during the first half of 2024 and will be part of the Rottneros group management. The background is that Rottneros Packaging is now entering the next phase as the leading supplier of high-quality fiber-based packaging. This involves an increased focus on developing market position and reaching the right customers with full force, as well as increasing production capacity. So far, the main focus has been on developing the product and production process.

Positive outcome reflects the strength in Rottneros’ business model

The interim report for the third quarter 2023 will be published on 26 October 2023, at 8.00 CET, and is followed by a webcast live at 12.00 CET the same day.

Rottneros is extending its commitment as an active partner in Sting Bioeconomy's Industri Partner Program. The Industri Partner Program is a platform and catalyst for the crucial green transition aimed at creating a sustainable industry with reduced environmental and climate impact.

The Annual General Meeting in Rottneros AB (publ) (“Rottneros”) will be held on Wednesday, 20 March 2024, in Sunne. The Nomination Committee has been appointed. 

Focus on improving competitiveness and financial stability

Rottneros has entered into a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) including Guarantees of Origin (GoOs) with the third largest German energy group Energie Baden-Württemberg (EnBW). The utility will supply Rottneros with just over 30 GWh/annum of clean energy delivered from the 116 MW Målarberget wind farm in Sweden over an 8.5-year period starting in 2025. The partnership marks an additional step in Rottneros’ ambitions to reduce the environmental impact of its operations and its exposure to the volatile and uncertain electricity market.

Rottneros has entered into a new loan agreement with Danske Bank whereby its existing long-term facilities will be refinanced. The new facilities amount to a total of 250 million SEK divided into a term loan facility of 100 million SEK and a revolving loan facility of up to 150 million SEK.
